Jamiroquai's lead singer and one man figure, Jay Kay, announced in Sidney that he's leaving Sony Music for good after a Greatest Hits album.

He's so pissed with them he's putting his next album on the internet for five fucking dollars. Everything is about Marketing, and a total lack of creativity. He's making sense now that he's about to finish his 8-record deal with Sony, a contract he signed with the big big record label in 1992. Recently, Sony merged with BMG and that makes just four major record labels in the world: EMI, Warner, Universal and Sony. Jay wants creativity freedom, and he knows he won't get it from Sony. He's a rebel, a pioneer, a stubborn kid... He can't be part of something that big like Sony, and I'm sure his departure has something to do with those bugs Sony/BMG CDs have that spy on computers that might make copies of their crappy releases. I wonder if Jamiroquai will release his next albums on his record label, Long Lost Brother...

At least somebody is making sense. We'll wait for the Greatest Hits album (even tho I'd like to see a live album instead of a Best Of collection.

Here's the article! Long live Rock And Roll :)
